OCPS District Police
OCPS District Police provides district-level safety, security, communications, and compliance support across Orange County Public Schools, including Orange Technical College. OCPS personnel coordinate with District Police and the local police department or sheriff’s office serving each campus when law-enforcement or security support is needed.

What OCPS District Police Does
OCPS District Police provides district-level police, security, safety, communications, and compliance support. Its responsibilities may include:
- Supporting OCPS schools and campuses during safety incidents and emergencies.
- Coordinating with OTC administrators, campus security personnel, and the local police department or sheriff’s office serving each campus.
- Assisting OCPS personnel with incidents involving crimes, threats, suspicious behavior, or other safety concerns.
- Supporting Clery Act reporting, campus crime statistics, Daily Crime Log information, and related safety notifications.
- Assisting with school-safety planning, training, prevention, and security operations.

OCPS personnel will coordinate with OCPS District Police for non-emergency school or campus safety matters when district-level police or security support is needed.
Students and Visitors
Depending on the situation and campus location, students and visitors should contact the local police department or sheriff’s office serving that campus for non-emergency law-enforcement assistance. See the campus-specific non-emergency law-enforcement contacts.
Depending on the concern, you may also contact a Campus Security Authority, Campus Dean or other campus administrator, or a Title IX contact.

Safety Escort Assistance
Students, employees, and visitors who feel uncomfortable walking alone on campus may request assistance from on-site security or the campus administration office.
To request an escort, contact or visit campus administration, state that you are requesting safety accompaniment, and wait in a staffed location until assistance is available. Campus staff will connect you with the appropriate on-site security personnel.
Do not attempt to walk through an area where there is an active threat. Call 911 for an emergency or immediate danger.

Local Law-Enforcement Agencies
Each OTC campus is served by the police department or sheriff’s office with jurisdiction over that location. Local law enforcement may respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, investigate crimes, and coordinate with campus officials and OCPS District Police when appropriate.
