As part of Orange County Public Schools and Career and Technical Education’s partnership with the Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association (CFHLA), students from Olympia High School’s hospitality and culinary program participated in a site visit to the JW Marriott Bonnet Creek.
During the visit, students gained valuable industry insight through a career panel featuring members of the hotel’s leadership team. They learned about event sales, banquet setup, and a variety of career pathways within the hospitality industry. Students also toured the property to explore its facilities and employment opportunities and took part in a hands-on culinary experience in a commercial kitchen.
Experiential learning opportunities like this allow students to connect classroom instruction with real-world application, reinforcing professional skills and industry expectations in an authentic setting.
Orange County Public Schools extends its appreciation to the Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association for its continued partnership and commitment to preparing the next generation of hospitality professionals.
